The Argentine tenor, Matias Exequiel Ibarra, holds a Higher Diploma in Voice (Técnico Superior en Canto), having graduated in 2015 from the Instituto Superior de Musica Carmelo H. de Biasi in the province of Corrientes. He is currently in the advanced stages of the Bachelor’s degree program in Music (Voice specialization) at the Universidad Nacional de las Artes (UNA). In 2020 and 2021, he received scholarships from the Fundación Williams and Juventus Lyrica to undertake advanced vocal training under distinguished teachers such as Enrique Folger, Darío Schmunck, and Hernán Sánchez Arteaga, among others. He is currently a member of the Coro Polifónico de Córdoba and continues his training with Patricia González. He continues his training with Patricia González.
sang in the chorus for Leopoldo Marechal's opera Don Juan at the Centro de Experimentacion del Teatro Colon (CETC) in 2016, and between 2017 and 2019, he was a chorus member with Juventus Lyrica, performing in productions at the Teatro Avenida and the Teatro Colón. In 2021, he joined the Coro Polifonico Delfino Quirici de Rio Cuarto on a contract basis.
As a soloist, Exequiel Ibarra performed the roles of Fernando Zara in Mallen Ubiedo Myzkow's Prohibido suicidarse en primavera at the Teatro Empire; Count Almaviva in G. Rossini's Il barbiere di Siviglia at the Teatro Real in Córdoba with the Fundación Lírica Mediterránea; and Gastone in G. Verdi's La Traviata at the Teatro Avenida with Juventus Lyrica and at the Teatro del Libertador San Martín in Córdoba. His contemporary work includes performances in M. L. Rossi's El anillo de boda and Prohibido suicidarse en primavera. Additionally, He has performed as a soloist in works such as George Frideric Handel’s Messiah, Puccini's Misa de Gloria, and Rossini’s Petite Messe Solennelle. Together with Música Dialéctica and its conductor Hermann Schreiner, he performed J.S. Bach’s Cantatas BWV 163 and BWV 153. Since 2022, he has been a member of the Coro Polifonico de la Provincia de Córdoba; and since 2024, he is a member of the vocal ensemble 12 de Cámara (Director: Camilo Santostefano). |
