The Argentine conductor, Camilo Santostefano, obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Music degree in Choral Conducting from Universidad Nacional de las Artes; his Professor of Music in Guitar from Conservatorio de Morón); and his Master in Musical Conducting from Universidad de Almería, Spain. Among other distinctions he received the 2019 Premio Konex 2019 en Dirección Coral (Argentina), the Grand Prix Florilège Vocal de Tours (France), the Grand Prix Ave Verum (Austria) and the IFCM Ambassador (Korea).
Camilo Santostefano is founder and director of MusicaQuantica Voces de Cámara (since 2006), 12 de Cámara (since September 2024), the Coro de la UNA "Carlos López Buchardo" and the Lírica Lado B company (2008-2018). Between 2019 and 2022, he resided in Austria, where he conducted choral and orchestral groups with performances in Vienna, Grafenegg, and Salzburg. He was director of the Coro Polifónico de Córdoba (2022-2025) and currently directs the Orquesta-Escuela Mediterránea de Córdoba (since March 2025) and one of the choirs of the Escuela de Niños Cantores de Córdoba Domingo Zípoli.
Camilo Santostefano has been invited to conduct the Coro Polifónico Nacional Argentino, the Red Coral de Medellín, the Coro Nacional Juvenil de Gales, the Fullerton College Chamber Choir (USA), the Orquesta Sinfónica de Córdoba and the Orquesta Filarmónica de Córdoba, among other groups.
Camilo Santostefano also carries out active teaching work in Argentine conservatories and universities, and gives courses and seminars in America and Europe. He is regularly invited as a jury member in important choral competitions in Argentina, France, Croatia and Greece. He currently lives in Córdoba, Argentina. |
