The German soprano, Dorothea Jakob, studied singing with Professor Ilse Hahn at the Hochschule "Carl Maria von Weber" in Dresden and specialized in Lieder interpretation with Olaf Bär during her studies. At the same time she began to study conducting with Professor Hans-Christoph Rademann, which she then continued at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag under Jos van Veldhoven.
As a singer Dorothea Jakob has already performed with professional choirs and ensembles such as the Nederlands Kamerkoor (Current Director: Peter Dijkstra), Netherlands Radio Choir, Huelgas Ensemble, Schola Heidelberg, Kammerchor Stuttgart (Director: Frieder Bernius), ChorWerk Ruhr (Director: Florian Helgath) and the Dresdner Kammerchor (Director: Hans-Christoph Rademann). Since 2004 she has been giving recitals with alternating duo partners in Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands and has taken over the soprano part of numerous oratorios by J.S. Bach, George Frideric Handel, Felix Mendelssohn, Gabriel Fauré, Camille Saint-Saëns, Rossini, etc.
Since April last year Dorothea Jakob has been leading the Kirchenchor St. Cäcilia Bornheim-Dersdorf and the Chorgemeinschaft St. Georg Neunkirchen-Seelscheid. She is currently studying for a master's degree in choral conducting with Professor Anders Eby at the Robert-Schumann-Hochschule Düsseldorf. |
