The ensemble La Pedrina was founded by Francesco Saverio Pedrini, for several years artistic and musical director of the Basel ensemble "Voces Suaves". It consists of musicians regularly performing with renowned groups such as La Capella Reial de Catalunya (Director: Jordi Savall), Le Concert Spirituel (Director: Hervé Niquet), Concerto Italiano (Director: Rinaldo Alessandrini), La Venexiana (Director: Claudio Cavina), Mala Punica (Director: Pedro Memelsdorff), Ensemble Pygmalion (Director: Raphaël Pichon), Ensemble Gilles Binchois (Director: Dominique Vellard), Ferrara Ensemble (Director: Crawford Young), Odhecaton (Director: Paolo Da Col), Cappella Mediterranea (Director: Leonardo García-Alarcón).
The center of the ensemble's interest is the Italian repertoire between Renaissance and early Baroque. The next projects of the ensemble include a CD recording with madrigals by the Italian Renaissance composer Luca Marenzio. |
