Peter Scholl (Choral Conductor)

Born: February 5, 1984 - Siegen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany

The German choral conductor and church musician, Peter Scholl, studied church music and orchestral conducting at the Frankfurt University of Music and Performing Arts. His artistic development was shaped by, among others, Martin Sander, Winfried Toll, and Wojciech Rajski, as well as by master-classes with conductors such as Hans-Christoph Rademann and Fred Sjöberg. He is a multiple scholarship recipient and award winner.

For many years, Peter Scholl directed the Kammerchor Accentus Vocalis and the St. Kantorei St. Jakob Frankfurt. Since July 2019, he has been the District Kantor for the Kirchenkreis Siegen-Wittgenstein and Artistic Director of the Bach-Chor Siegen and the Collegium Vocale Siegen. Guest conducting engagements have taken him to, among others, the Hochschulchor Frankfurt and the Philharmonie Südwestfalen.

In addition to his performing work, Peter Scholl teaches choral conducting at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Frankfurt am Main (since April 2014). He previously also taught at the Hochschule für Musik Mainz; he is also involved in the training and professional development of choral conductors. He currently lives in Neunkirchen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.
