Founded in 2006 in Córdoba, Argentina, Confluencia Barroca brings together musicians with extensive experience in the 17th- and 18th-century repertoire, gained in ensembles such as Música Segreta, Poema Harmónico, Ensamble Córdoba Bach, Orquesta Barroca del Suquía, and 12 de Cámara, conducted by renowned specialists like Manfredo Kraemer, Leonardo Waisman, and Bernardo Illari, and Camilo Santostefano.
Confluencia Barroca's programs encompass vocal and instrumental works from the European and American Baroque periods: arias, motets, villancicos, sonatas, and other pieces by both renowned and anonymous composers.
In their performances, Confluencia Barroca presents thematic programs that explore contrasts and similarities within specific repertoires. Examples of this include their concerts dedicated to showcasing the musical landscape of the Spanish American colonies, both in the viceregal cities and the Jesuit missions, or those that explore the instrumental and religious music of France, Italy, and Germany in the early 18th century.
The group consists of Agustín Caturelli (Flute); Mimí Waisbord (Oboe); Mauro Asís (Violin); Alejandro Aizenberg (Bassoon); Raúl Venturini (Viola da gamba); and Marcela Reartes (Harpsichord). |
