The Coro Polifonico "Marc'Antonio Ingegneri" was founded in Verona in 1979 by Professor Arnaldo Petterlini and since 2004 it has been the Accademia Musicale Dodekachordon under the direction of Maestro Giovanni Petterlini.
In its long activity, the choir has held numerous concerts in prestigious venues: Sala Accademica del Pontificio Istituto di Musica Sacra di Roma, Chiesa della Pietà di Venezia, Sala Maffeiana di Verona, Basilica di San Flaviano a Montefiascone; in the cities of Como, Brescia, Trento, Mantova, Macerata, Rovigo and in the main churches of Verona (Zeno, San Fermo, Duomo, San Bernardino and Sant’Anastasia).
With constant passion and care for training, the choir has matured over the years, until reaching very appreciable artistic levels. The Choir has dedicated itself to the Lieder repertoire ranging from Felix Mendelssohn to Johannes Brahms, from Sergei Rachmaninov to Béla Bartók, accompanied by pianist Filippo Gamba.
Significant is the collaboration with the orchestra I Virtuosi Italiani and Maestro Alberto Martini, with whom the Choir has performed W.A. Mozart's Vesperae Solennes de Confessore and the Krönungsmesse under the direction of Filippo Maria Bressan and George Frideric Handel's the Dettingen Te Deum under the direction of André Bernard. Also noteworthy is the participation in the concerts of Musica e Arte Sacra in Verona and in the Primavera musicale in Baggio (Milano). Also fruitful is the collaboration with the Accademia Filarmonica di Verona for which it has held numerous concerts.
Over the last ten years it has tackled fundamental pages of symphonic-choral writing: W.A. Mozart's Große Messe in c-Moll and Requiem; J.S. Bach's Magnificat in D major BWV 243; Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria and Magnificat; Felix Mendelssohn's Lauda Sion; G. Rossini's Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle; Ottorino Respighi's Lauda per la Natività del Signore.
The choir was directed by its founder until 1998 when his son Giovanni Petterlini succeeded him. In 2014 the artistic direction was entrusted to Maestro Luigi Azzolini who was replaced for a short period in 2017 by Maestro Paolo Facincani. Since January 2018 the Choir has been directed by Maestro Matteo Valbusa.
